FAQs
What are bookplates used for?
Bookplates are stickers or stamps to put on one of the inside covers or pages of books to show who owns it. Four Letter Fancies uses stickers, and has a blank spot for you to put your name. It's best to use a sharpie, texter or marker rather than a water-based pen.
What does ex Libris Mean?
Ex Libris is Latin for "From the Library of". It's a fancy way of saying the book (or whatever else) is yours.
Do Bookplates Devalue Books?
I'd personally say they don't: I think they're pretty cool, that's why I make them! But if you're talking about resale value of pristine books, then yes, probably. But pristine books aren't the best plates for bookplates anyway, as a sign of ownership, books with bookplates should be well loved!
